Why have community laughter groups?
Modern science has recently ‘discovered’ that a rich network of emotional connections is the number-one reason for people to be happy and that the most powerful factor in happiness is good relationships. This is more important than money, job satisfaction or marital status. The simple fact is that, for humans to be happy, one needs a network of healthy emotional relationships with a group of people who care about us and about whom we care. To achieve this goal, social laughter groups have proved very valuable since they provide important social networking benefits that have changed the lives of many.
Laughter groups welcome a diverse range of people regardless of gender, age, physical abilities, social or economic backgrounds. They practice the Laughter Yoga method of laughing for no reason as a form of exercise.
When you participate in a laughter workshop you use all Five Ways to Wellbeing (Connect, Take Notice, Give, Be Active and Keep Learning).

Community Laughter Clubs
These clubs connect people and provide a safe platform for people to approach laughter as a form of exercise, which has enormous psychological and physiological benefits. These clubs strengthen communities by providing rich social networking benefits, and have a far-reaching positive impact on people throughout the community, who don’t even attend.
Laughter clubs are run by volunteers, there are no membership fees to a governing body and other people who attend the club are asked for a gold coin donation. Clubs are non profit, non religious and non political.
There are currently over 3,000 Laughter Clubs in 65 countries around the world
